Information about the city Bagua Grande
Bagua Grande, also known as Corazón de Amazonas (English Heart of Amazonas) is a town in northern Peru, capital of Utcubamba Province, in the region Amazonas. It has an estimated 47,396 inhabitants, having changed from a rural to an urban area after experiencing lots of immigration in the 1960s.
The urban area is located on a hillside by the river Utcubamba, now merged with Cajaruro District, is very warm, fertile and rain for most of the year.
The economy is based on trade and agricultural production, especially of very high quality rice, corn and coffee, trade is active with the cities of Chiclayo, Jaen, and the neighboring department of San Martin. It has minor industries, of hulled and rice mills and bottling carbonated water.
Information about the city Tumbes
Tumbes is a city in northwestern Peru, on the banks of the Tumbes River. It is the capital of the Tumbes Region, as well as of Tumbes Province and Tumbes District. Located near the border with Ecuador, Tumbes has 111,595 inhabitants as of 2015. It is served by the Cap. FAP Pedro Canga Rodriguez Airport.
Tumbes has its origins back in pre-Inca times when it was inhabited by a cultural group of natives called Tumpis. At its peak, its population is estimated to have reached 178,000. After 1400, Inca Pachacuti ruled over Tumbes and the territory became an important political stronghold during the Inca Empire. Later Inca emperor Huayna Capac expanded Tumbes by ordering the construction of roads, houses and palaces.
The city has a warm semi-arid climate, with an average annual precipitation of 258.2 mm (10.17 in).
