Guadalupe is a city in Northern Peru, capital of the district Guadalupe in the region La Libertad. This town is located some 127 km north Trujillo city and is primarily an agricultural center in the Jequetepeque Valley.

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (72.16%) learnt to speak in childhood, 27.31% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language.
